Women In eNergy – an alliance for the Empowerment of Women in the Energy Sector (WIN)

Timeline: 12.2023 – 03.2026
Budget: 435.600,00
Type: Project
Status: Finished
The project builds on the success of WEnCoop, Greece's first energy community for women entrepreneurs, to promote gender equality in energy sectors. It supports authorities in integrating ECs into energy agendas, identifies policy gaps, and provides recommendations to boost women's participation. Women entrepreneurs and associations are key partners, and initiatives like the WIN Training Programme and WIN Dialogues equip women with the skills needed for active engagement. The WIN Network Platform ensures global outreach, inspiring more women to lead in energy transition efforts. The project is implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Montenegro, and North Macedonia.

This project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) through the European Climate Initiative (EUKI) project ideas competition, which is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
