TERPEIS Balkan – Triggering Emissions Reductions in Power- and Emissions-Intensive Sectors
This project complements the GAWB initiative by adding scientific and social dimensions, focusing on aligning the Western Balkans Six' climate policies with the EU ETS and CBAM. It supports the development of ambitious NECPs, NDCs, and LTSs to reduce emissions in key sectors like steel, cement, electricity, and chemicals. Through workshops, seminars, and consultations, civil society is empowered to contribute to climate policy formulation and monitoring. The project also builds the analytical capacity of policymakers, private sector stakeholders, and academics while fostering a Western Balkans Six expert community to share best practices in greenhouse gas reduction.
