Supporting Green Transition through Circular Economy Roadmaps

The project aims to assist governments from the region in preparing and implementing Circular Economy roadmaps to accelerate green economic recovery and growth, in line with the EU Green Agenda for the Western Balkans. The roadmaps outline a total of 76 CE policy recommendations organised over short-, medium-, and long-term (35 recommendations across three areas for Albania and 41 across five areas for North Macedonia). Proposed policy actions for each priority area in Albania and North Macedonia CE roadmap were accompanied by a monitoring framework to guide CE policy formulation and action implementation. Regional Circular Economy Peer Dialogue platform established, consisting of Western Balkans Six peers + EU and OECD working on Circular Economy, to facilitate regular knowledge exchange and peer learning among government authorities, the private sector, civil society and academia on how to design, implement and monitor progress in their circular economy transition efforts in the Western Balkans Six and beyond. Four regional events organised in this respect, including on combatting plastic pollution and driving circular economy transition with private sector initiatives.
