RECONOMY is a Swedish-funded inclusive and green economic development programme, implemented by Helvetas, that operates across the Eastern Partnership and Western Balkans Six. It empowers women and youth, including the most disadvantaged and excluded, by improving access to economic opportunities, increasing incomes, and fostering green and inclusive employment. The programme works systemically in key sectors such as textiles, ICT and business process outsourcing, tourism, construction, transport and logistics, and circular economy, focusing on interventions that have the potential to generate scalable, lasting change. RECONOMY strengthens business development services, improves demand-driven workforce skills, promotes access to finance, and supports reforms in policies and regulations. Through partnerships with public institutions, civil society, academia, and the private sector, it drives systemic improvements, encourages regional cooperation, and creates sustainable market linkages.
