Regulation (EU) 2018/858 on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles

Regulation (EU) 2018/858 of 30 May 2018 on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles. It lays down harmonised rules and principles for type-approval and market surveillance to ensure the proper functioning of the internal market while offering a high level of safety and environmental protection. Furthermore, it reinforces enforcement mechanisms, clarifies economic operators' responsibilities across the supply chain, and enhances conformity of production procedures.
