Regulation (EU) 2024/1679 on Union guidelines for the development of the trans-European transport network (TEN-T)

EU regulation on Union guidelines for the development of the trans-European transport network, revising the TEN-T framework. It underlines the need for adequate capacity of multimodal freight terminals and requires EU Member States to ensure that terminals serve urban hubs, industrial centres, ports and logistics hubs, taking account of current and future traffic flows. EU Member States must carry out a market and prospective analysis of multimodal freight terminals on their territory and prepare an action plan for a cohesive terminal network, which is then notified to the European Commission.
