Fit for 55: CBAM Explainer

The carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM) creates incentives for non-EU producers to reduce emissions. It is an essential part of the Fit for 55 package - a set of proposals to revise and update existing EU law to make sure the EU policies are in line with EU climate goals (reducing net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030).
