Economic Convergence Scoreboard for the Western Balkans 2025

An OECD publication released on 10 June 2025 that monitors and assesses the progress of the Western Balkans towards economic convergence with the European Union. It draws on more than 35 indicators across five policy clusters: infrastructure and connectivity, skills, business environment, digital transformation and greening. Its 2025 edition documents the region's circularity gap, reporting that over 83% of municipal waste in the Western Balkans Six is still landfilled compared with 23% in the EU, with recycling rates as low as 2 to 3% in some of the Western Balkans Six.
