Belem Joint Statement on the Rio Conventions

A joint statement on the Rio Conventions adopted on 18 November 2025 at UNFCCC COP30 in Belém, signed by the presidencies of UNFCCC COP30, CBD COP16 and COP17, and UNCCD COP16 and COP17. It calls for integrated, coherent policies and synergistic implementation across the Paris Agreement, the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and the UNCCD land degradation neutrality targets, describing institutional silos as impediments to achieving the conventions' interrelated objectives.
